Started fly fishing: I started fly fishing three years
ago. Being an avid golfer, it was time for me to find another
lifestyle hobby that required fewer four-letter words. While I
still mumble some ridiculous stuff after a bad cast, at least
I'm not paying a hundred bucks a round to beat myself up.
Best time angling: It was an overcast April day on the
Potomac River about 25 miles inland of Washington, DC. Conditions
were ideal. The smallies were pounding a massive bugger my buddy
tied and life was good.
Favorite lake, river, or salt fishing spot: Salmon and
Steelhead on the fly in North Central Washington (not far from
the small town where I grew up). Good fishing and close to mom's
home cooking - who could ask for more?
Fishing trip of a lifetime: Peacock Bass in the Amazon
River Basin. The downside would be the Howler
monkeys making me feel inadequate with every cast, but I'm
pretty sure it would be worth the heckling.
